Fields: Cascade Room Settings to Profiles

When you configure many of the settings for a room, those settings apply only to the current profile. For example, if you specify a two-column layout for the room, it will appear as three columns for the current profile. However, when you open the room in a different profile, the room content would display in the default three-column format. If you want the layout and other settings to display the same in other profiles, you can cascade those settings to the profiles you choose.

Rooms > Choose a profile > Cascade Room Settings to Profiles

Portfolio copies only the settings that you have selected to the profiles you have selected. The settings for the room that you selected overwrite any of the room’s settings in the selected profiles. Any settings that are not selected have no affect on the room’s settings in the selected profile.

Depending on the settings you want to copy, you will need specific account privileges. If your account doesn’t included the appropriate privileges, the related settings will not appear in the Cascade Room Settings to Profiles page. These settings require these privileges:

  • Asset settings: PRIV_ASSIGN_ASSET_TO_ROOM
  • Booklists and room layouts: PRIV_ROOMS_CONFIG
  • Target and search limit settings: PRIV_ROOMS_SEARCH

Note: If the default limit of the source room is not available in the profile of the destination room, the destination room will have no default limit after the cascade takes place.

  • Rights to the administer the profiles to which the settings will be copied

For more information about user privileges, see Fields: Add/Edit Role.
